How to use the Language Translation Database

  1. First make sure all the maps to be translated have been approved and are in the live site of the master library.
  2. Then publish the master library. This will copy the maps from the master library to the regional libraries and copy all new text into the Language Translation Database (LTD) Excel spreadsheet.
  3. Translate the text using the LTD Excel spreadsheet.
  4. Save and close the LTD Excel spreadsheet.
  5. Perform a live publish of any regional libraries in need of translation.
  6. The maps will now be translated and the HTML will be created on the regional sites, so double check the translation is complete and that's it!

Correct order of translation

Below is a map showing the correct order of translating your maps. For translation to occur these steps will have to be followed in this exact order, updating the LTD Excel spreadsheet and then ONLY republishing the regional libraries will not work.

Language Translation Database process

The Language Translation Database only makes one single translation

When using the language translation database it is useful to know that the LTD only makes a one time translation of all the maps per live publish of the master library. This means that for any translation to take place the master library's live site must be published first.
